Mashed Malanga

Made just like mashed potatoes and taste similar and healthier.

2 lbs. malanga,
4 garlic cloves,
3-4 oz. white button mushrooms,
4 oz. onion,
1 T. salt for boiling,
1 c. skim milk or cream,
1/4 c. butter or olive oil,
1 tsp. sea, 1/4 tsp. pepper, for veggies,
1 tsp. salt when mashing with a fork.
