Puree Of Lentil And Barley Soup

Ignore anything I said about being gluten free. If you have problems chewing food then this is a good choice. this makes 5 qts.

2 c. dry lentils,
1 c. pearl barley,
18 oz. peeled sweet potato,
6-8 oz. carrots,
6 oz. kale,
7-8 oz. celery,
1 large red pepper,
8 oz. onion,
4 bay leaves,
4 qts. water,
1-2 T. sea salt,
1 tsp. black pepper
