Yellow Split Pea Soup With Beef And Potatoes

A meal in itself, yellow split peas cooked in chicken stock with fresh potatoes and fresh corn with chunks of beef.

10oz.peeled potato,
1 c. diced onion,
1/2 c. diced celery,
1/2 c. diced carrots,
16-18 oz. hamburger meat,
1 ear corn,
2 qt. chicken stock,
3 bay leaf,
1-2 tsp. fresh or dry thyme,
1 tsp. sea salt,
1/4 tsp. black peppe
