Beef And Mushroom Ragout

This is a 3 & 1/2 hour trip in a crock pot on high.
The meat and mushroom flavors blend well together.

3 & 1/2 lbs. flat iron steak or short ribs of beef ( no bones in weight but use bones for flavor ),
beef cut into 2 oz. pieces,
1 & 3/4 - 2 lb. button mushrooms,
1/2 c. garlic cloves,
12 - 14 oz. peeled onion,
1 vine rip tomato,
3 tsp. sea salt,
1 tsp. black pepper
3 & 1/2 hours cooking
